Evidence Based Practice

Evidence Based Practice

According to the APA Task Force on Evidence-Based Practice in Psychology (EBPP), evidence-based practice “is the integration of the best available research with clinical expertise in the context of patient characteristics, culture, and preferences" (APA, 2005).

Consistent with the recommendations of the Task Force, the Society of Pediatric Psychology supports the use of assessment techniques and interventions that have demonstrated efficacy and effectiveness in research and applied settings.

The links below provide access to bibliographies of empirical evidence in support of treatments and interventions for a number of conditions and/or illnesses that frequently affect children and adolescents. These lists were compiled by Anthony Spirito, Terry Stancin, and Kathy Zebracki, and were last updated in January of 2003. Please look for additional updates on this site within the coming months.
